Generative engine optimization Broward County, FL # Your next customer is asking AI, not Google. The AI Visibility Scanner runs 100 real buyer-intent searches across the five engines people actually ask — then tells you exactly how many of those answers named your business, and which competitor took the rest. Book a call See a sample report First scan is free Every scan run by hand No contract to see the number 100 real searches per scan, no sampling or extrapolation 5 engines queried live, each with web access switched on 20 buyer-intent prompts written for your category and market ~6m from pressing run to a finished report 01 Why now ## Search stopped returning a list. It started returning an answer. An answer names two or three businesses. Everyone else is simply not in the conversation. 01 ### There is no page two Ten blue links gave a dozen businesses a shot. A generated answer gives two or three. Ranking eleventh used to be survivable — being unnamed is not. 02 ### Analytics can't show you the loss An AI answer that never mentions you produces no impression, no click, no line in a report. The revenue walks to a competitor and leaves no trace to investigate. 03 ### The sources are being set now Models assemble their picture of your market from listicles, directories and review sites you can still influence. Whoever earns those citations first gets named repeatedly. 02 The method ## One scan is 100 real searches. Not a crawl, not an estimate, and not a self-service tool — we run every scan by hand. A hundred distinct questions a real buyer would type, sent live to every engine, with the answers read back and counted. 5engines × 20prompts = 100searches Read the full methodology 01 ### We build your prompt set Twenty distinct buyer-intent questions for your category and market — problem-first, "best X in Y", ranked comparisons, price and rating filters, near-me, and asked-about-you-by-name. 02 ### We run them for real Live calls with web search and grounding switched on — Perplexity, the ChatGPT Responses API, Claude's server-side search, Gemini with Google grounding, and Google AI Overviews scraped as served. 03 ### We count names, not vibes Every business named in every answer is extracted and tallied — yours and each rival's. A request that fails is excluded from the denominator, because a timeout is not evidence of invisibility. 04 ### You get the scoreboard One number out of 100, then the breakdown: which engines ignore you, which questions you lose, who is being recommended instead, and the fixes each of those measurements points to. 03 Scan setup ## Is this company visible in AI? Tell us who you are and where you compete. That is enough to write the twenty questions. We run the hundred searches live on the call, roughly six minutes, while you watch. No slide deck and no discovery questionnaire. The measurement comes before the pitch. If you're already visible in AI search, we'll tell you that and you'll have spent twenty minutes. Want to see the output first? Click through a full sample report. ### Request your free scan Three fields. The booking page takes it from there. Company name * City / market Category Engines Perplexity ChatGPT Google AI Overviews Claude Gemini Request my free scan 5 engines × 20 prompts = 100 searches This sends us your details and opens the booking page. It does not start a scan in your browser — a person runs the 100 searches and sends you the report. What happens to what you type. 04 The report ## What you actually get back. Same layout, same measurements, same wording as the PDF a client keeps. 05 Engines covered ## Five engines, measured separately. They disagree constantly. Being strong in one and absent from another is the normal result — and it changes what you should fix first. 01 ### Perplexity Search-native API Highest citation rate for local businesses. Leans hard on third-party listicles and directories, so absence here usually means absence from those sources. 02 ### Google AI Overviews Scraped as served · SerpApi Scraped as served, via SerpApi. The highest real-world traffic impact of the five, because it sits above the results your customers were already scrolling. 03 ### ChatGPT Responses API · web_search Run through the Responses API with the web_search tool enabled, so the answers reflect what a customer sees today rather than stale training data. 04 ### Claude Messages API · web_search Messages API with the server-side web_search tool. Conservative about naming businesses, which makes an appearance here a strong signal of source quality. 05 ### Gemini generateContent · google_search grounding generateContent with google_search grounding. Closest to the Maps and Business Profile ecosystem, so local signal problems tend to show up here first. 06 Questions ## What people ask before they book. More definitions in the AI search glossary, or read the full methodology. What is AI visibility? AI visibility is the share of AI-generated answers to buyer-intent questions that name a given business, measured out of the answers actually received. A business named in 14 of 96 completed answers has 15% AI visibility. Why does being named in AI answers matter more than ranking? Ten blue links gave a dozen businesses a shot at the click, so ranking eleventh was survivable. A generated answer names two or three businesses and has no page two, so a business that is not named is not in the conversation at all. Can analytics show me the business I lose in AI search? No. An AI answer that never mentions your business produces no impression, no click and no line in any report. The revenue goes to a competitor and leaves no trace to investigate, which is why AI visibility has to be measured deliberately rather than inferred from analytics. Which AI engines should a local business be measured against? Five cover the field for local search: Perplexity, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Claude and Gemini. They disagree constantly, so being strong in one and absent from another is the normal result and it changes what to fix first. 07 About ## Built by Sun Coast Digital Media. We're a marketing agency in Broward County, Florida. We built the scanner because clients kept asking a question no existing tool could answer: when someone asks AI for the best in our category, do we come up? So we ran it on ourselves first. The number was ugly. It's the reason the tool exists, and the reason we don't sell you a plan before we show you the measurement. There is no API that reports your AI visibility. The only honest way to find out is to ask the engines the questions your customers ask, read what comes back, and count. That is all the scanner does — carefully, and the same way every time. 20 buyer-intent prompts written for your category and market 5 engines queried live, each with web access enabled 100 real searches per scan, no sampling or extrapolation ~6m minutes from pressing run to a finished report Last updated 31 July 2026 · Sun Coast Digital Media, Fort Lauderdale, FL Step one The twenty questions ## Six intent families, written the way people actually ask. Weighted toward the way people actually describe a need. Nothing generic, nothing keyword-stuffed — these are sentences, because that is what gets typed into an assistant. 01 ### Problem-first The customer describes a symptom, not a service. The hardest family to win and the most valuable. "my roof is leaking after the storm, who should I call in Broward?" 02 ### "Best X in Y" The classic local query. Answered almost entirely from third-party roundups and directories. "best med spa in Fort Lauderdale" 03 ### Ranked comparisons Head-to-head shortlists. Appearing here means the engine considers you a peer of the leaders. "compare the top three personal injury firms near Plantation" 04 ### Price & rating filters Qualified buyers with a constraint. Requires structured facts about you to exist somewhere public. "affordable HVAC repair in Coral Springs with 4.5 stars or better" 05 ### Near-me Proximity intent. Leans on map and business-profile data, so local signal problems surface here first. "med spa near Las Olas open on Saturday" 06 ### Asked about you by name The control group. Losing these is an emergency; winning only these means nobody discovers you. "is Coral Ridge Med Spa any good?" Step two How each engine is asked ## All five get the same twenty prompts. What differs is the door we knock on. In every case, live web access is switched on so the answer reflects today. 01 ### Perplexity Search-native API Highest citation rate for local businesses, and the clearest read on whether third-party listicles carry your name. 02 ### Google AI Overviews Scraped via SerpApi Captured exactly as a searcher is served it. The highest real-world traffic impact of the five. 03 ### ChatGPT Responses API · web_search The default assistant for most consumers. Blends live results with a strong prior from training data. 04 ### Claude Messages API · web_search Conservative about naming businesses it cannot corroborate, which makes an appearance a strong quality signal. 05 ### Gemini generateContent · grounding Closest to the Maps and Business Profile ecosystem. Weak local data shows up here before anywhere else. Step three What gets counted ## Three numbers, each defined narrowly enough that you can argue with it. That is the point — a metric you cannot audit is a metric you cannot act on. Visibility ### Were you named at all? The count of answers that mention your business by name, divided by the answers we successfully received. Aliases you supply count as you. Share of voice ### How big a slice? Your mentions as a fraction of every business mention across the whole scan. This is the number that says how crowded your category really is. Cited as a source ### Did they link you? Answers that cite your own domain, not just your name. Being mentioned is good; being the source is what compounds. Denominator integrity If a request fails — a timeout, a rate limit, an engine having a bad afternoon — it is removed from the denominator instead of being scored as a miss. A scan that attempted 100 searches and completed 96 reports out of 96, and says so on the report. Inflating your score with someone else's outage would make the number useless. Then The walkthrough ## Then we read it with you. A number on its own starts an argument. The report ends it, because every recommendation is tied to a measurement you can see on the page above it — which engine, which question family, which competitor, how many times. Most of what follows is unglamorous: getting listed in the roundups the engines already trust, fixing structured data, earning two or three credible citations, and rescanning on a fixed cadence so you can tell a real change from a fluctuation. Click through a full sample report How long until the number moves? Directory and listing work can show up within a few weeks. Source-quality work — real editorial citations — takes a quarter or more. Is this different from SEO? It overlaps but it is not the same. Classic SEO optimizes a page to rank. Generative engine optimization makes your business the answer, which depends far more on what other sites say about you than on your own page. Do the results change between scans? Slightly, yes — these are generative systems. A one- or two-point wobble is noise. A trend across several weekly scans is signal, which is why the report charts it. Do I have to hire you afterwards? No. The first scan and the walkthrough are free, and the report is yours either way. Plenty of the fixes are things an in-house marketer can run without us. The last two are the ones that compound, and neither can be rushed — which is why the rescan cadence is weekly and the review is quarterly. Reading the line Four weeks is enough to separate a real gain from a wobble, and not enough to judge the source-quality work. A one- or two-point move in a single week is noise; the direction across four scans is the signal. Sample data. Twelve terms that come up on every AI visibility call, defined plainly. No jargon defended with more jargon — if a definition needs a second sentence to be useful, it gets one. Last updated 31 July 2026 · Maintained by Sun Coast Digital Media, Fort Lauderdale, FL On this page 01Generative engine optimization (GEO) 02AI visibility 03Share of voice (AI search) 04Cited as a source 05AI Overview 06Grounding 07Buyer-intent prompt 08Problem-first query 09llms.txt 10Entity resolution 11NAP consistency 12Denominator integrity 01 ## Generative engine optimization (GEO) The practice of getting a business named inside AI-generated answers. Where classic SEO optimizes a page to rank in a list of links, GEO works to make the business the answer an assistant gives. The difference matters because the levers are different: GEO depends far more on what independent third-party sources say about a business than on anything published on the business's own website. 02 ## AI visibility The share of AI-generated answers to buyer-intent questions that name a given business, measured out of the answers actually received. A business named in 14 of 96 completed answers has 15% AI visibility. The measurement only means something when the question set is fixed and the denominator is honest — see denominator integrity. 03 ## Share of voice (AI search) A business's mentions expressed as a fraction of every business mention across a set of AI answers. It measures how crowded a category is. A business can hold decent visibility and still hold low share of voice, because each answer that names it also names four competitors. Visibility says whether you are in the conversation; share of voice says how much of it you own. 04 ## Cited as a source An AI answer that links a business's own domain, as opposed to merely naming the business. Being mentioned earns a moment of attention. Being cited compounds, because the model returns to that domain as a reference on later questions. Most businesses are mentioned far more often than they are cited, and closing that gap is slower work than getting mentioned in the first place. 05 ## AI Overview Google's AI-generated summary shown above the traditional blue links. It answers the query directly and typically names only two or three businesses. That is the structural change worth understanding: ten blue links gave a dozen businesses a shot at the click, and ranking eleventh was survivable. An answer that names three businesses has no page two. 06 ## Grounding Supplying a language model with live retrieved web results at the moment it answers, rather than relying on its training data. A grounded answer reflects what is on the web today. An ungrounded one reflects whatever the model absorbed during training, which may be a year stale. Any credible AI visibility measurement runs with grounding enabled, because ungrounded answers measure the model's memory rather than the market. 07 ## Buyer-intent prompt A question phrased the way a real customer would type it into an assistant, used to test AI visibility. Buyer-intent prompts are full sentences describing a need, not keyword strings, because that is what people actually send to an assistant. "Best med spa in Fort Lauderdale" is one. "med spa fort lauderdale fl best" is a search-box habit that nobody uses in a chat window. 08 ## Problem-first query A search in which the customer describes a symptom rather than naming a service. "My roof is leaking after the storm, who should I call" instead of "roofing contractor". It is the hardest query family to win and usually the most valuable, because the customer has not yet decided what they are buying — which means whoever the assistant names gets to define the purchase. 09 ## llms.txt A plain-text file at a website's root that summarizes the site for large language models, in the way robots.txt addresses crawlers. It states what the organization does and maps the pages worth reading, so a model can grasp the site from one fetch instead of inferring it from markup. It is a convention rather than a standard, and no engine is obliged to read it — but it costs almost nothing to publish. This site's llms.txt is a working example. 10 ## Entity resolution The process by which a search or AI system decides that a name appearing in several places refers to one real organization. Consistent names, addresses and cross-links between a business's own properties and its third-party profiles are what let a model merge scattered mentions into a single confident entity. Until that merge happens, every mention is diluted across several half-entities, and the model hedges rather than recommending. 11 ## NAP consistency Using an identical business name, address and phone number everywhere the business appears online. Inconsistencies — a name spelled as two words in one place and three in another, a suite number present on one listing and absent on the next — split what should be one entity into several weaker ones. Local answers are the first place the damage shows, because they lean hardest on map and business-profile data. 12 ## Denominator integrity Excluding failed requests from the total when scoring AI visibility, rather than counting them as misses. If a scan attempts 100 searches and 4 time out, the score is calculated out of 96 — because a timeout is evidence of a network problem, not of invisibility. Scoring failures as misses makes a number look worse than reality and makes week-to-week trends meaningless, which defeats the purpose of measuring at all. Sun Coast Digital Media is an AI-native digital marketing agency in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida. We work with the businesses that live and die by local demand — med spas, law firms, contractors, clinics, home services. Our clients started asking a question none of our tools could answer: when someone asks ChatGPT for the best in our category, do we come up? Rank trackers could not tell us. Analytics could not tell us. So we built something that could — a scanner that asks the engines the same questions a customer would, and counts who gets named. We ran it on ourselves first. The number was bad enough that we kept building. That is still how we open every engagement: measurement before proposal, and the honest number even when it is not the one you wanted. Where we work Broward County and the greater South Florida market — Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, Plantation, Pompano, Weston. Remote for everyone else. Who we build for Local businesses that need to be recommended, marketing leads who need a defensible number for the board, and agencies who would rather license a scanner than build one. How we charge First scan and walkthrough are free. Anything after that is scoped on the call, in plain numbers, with no retainer required to keep your report. The short version Seven questions ## Who we are, in the fewest words that are still true. ## Who is Sun Coast Digital Media? Sun Coast Digital Media is an AI-native digital marketing agency in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida, serving small and mid-sized businesses across South Florida. It is a member of the NVIDIA Inception Program. "AI-native" is a phrase most agencies now claim, so here is the version that can be checked. Every service we sell runs inside our own business before a client is invoiced for it. The AI Visibility Scanner exists because we needed the measurement ourselves and could not buy it. When something does not survive that internal run, it does not reach a proposal — which is the only version of "we use AI" that means anything to a business owner paying for it. The agency is owner-operated and small on purpose. You talk to the person doing the work, not an account manager relaying it. For a business spending four figures a month rather than six, that is usually the difference between a plan that gets executed and a plan that gets reported on. Sun Coast Digital Media is a member of the NVIDIA Inception Program, NVIDIA's program for startups building on accelerated computing and AI. Two things that affiliation is not: it is not a paid placement, and it is not an NVIDIA endorsement of our services. It is stated here once, plainly, because it is a third-party affiliation that can be checked — which is more than most agency credentials survive. ## What does Sun Coast Digital Media do? We build and run the marketing infrastructure a local business needs to get found and get recommended: websites, social media, property walkthrough video, managed paid ads, and AI search visibility. Concretely, that is five lines of work: Websites Fast, structured, schema-marked sites built so both search crawlers and AI assistants can parse what the business is, where it operates and what it sells. Social media Managed posting and content for the platforms a local audience actually uses, treated as a discovery and proof surface rather than a vanity feed. AI voice assistants Assistants that answer the phone, qualify the caller, and book or route them — so after-hours and overflow calls stop turning into missed revenue. Lead-gen agents Automations that find, enrich and follow up with prospects on a schedule, instead of relying on someone remembering to. AI search visibility Measuring how often a business is named and cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude and Gemini — then closing the gaps that keep it out of those answers. That is what the AI Visibility Scanner was built for. Most clients do not buy all five. The usual entry point is the free scan, because it produces a number that tells both of us which of the five is actually costing them money. ## Where does Sun Coast Digital Media work? Sun Coast Digital Media is based in Fort Lauderdale and serves Parkland, Coral Springs, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Coconut Creek, Pompano Beach, Plantation, Weston and Miami — with remote clients anywhere. Being local to Broward matters more for AI search than it did for classic SEO. Assistants answering "best med spa near Coral Springs" lean heavily on local citations, review platforms and directory consistency — signals that are regional, not national. Knowing which South Florida sources the engines actually pull from is a large part of the work, and it is not knowledge that transfers cleanly from another market. The scan itself is market-agnostic. If you operate in Tampa, Atlanta or Denver, the same twenty buyer-intent prompts run against your category and city and produce the same report. We just will not pretend to know your local citation landscape the way we know this one. ## Who do we work with? Local businesses that depend on being recommended, in-house marketing leads who need a defensible number, and agencies that would rather license a scanner than build one. The first group is the core: med spas, law firms, contractors, clinics and home services. What they have in common is that their buyers ask for a recommendation rather than browsing a list — which is exactly the query shape assistants have taken over. The second group is a marketing director or owner who already suspects the problem and needs it in a form that survives a meeting. A visibility percentage, a share-of-voice figure and the named competitor absorbing the demand does that; "we should do more AI stuff" does not. The third group is other agencies. If you serve clients who are asking about AI search and you do not want to build measurement infrastructure to answer them, the scanner can run under your engagement. ## How do we work? Measurement before proposal. We show the honest number first, and scope work against the gaps it exposes — not against a package chosen in advance. Three rules hold across every engagement, and they are the ones worth knowing before you book anything: We run it internally before we sell it. No service is offered to a client until it has done real work inside Sun Coast Digital Media. It costs us launch speed and saves clients from being the test case. We do not manufacture proof. Every number we put in front of you is either from your own live scan or clearly labeled as sample data. The sample report on this site is fictional and says so on every screen, because a fabricated case study is a lie with a design budget. You keep the measurement either way. The report from the first scan is yours whether you hire us, hire someone else, or hand it to your own team. The methodology is published in full so it can be replicated without us. ## What does it cost? The first scan and the 20-minute walkthrough are free. Work after that is scoped on the call in plain numbers, with no contract or retainer required. There is no trial that converts to a subscription, no card taken up front, and no requirement to sign anything to keep the report. If the scan shows your visibility is already healthy, we will tell you that and you have spent twenty minutes finding out — which is a better outcome than paying to discover it slowly. ## How do you reach us? Sun Coast Digital Media, Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida. Phone 954-952-3611. Email alexalligan@suncoastdigital.us. The fastest path is the scan request form — tell us your category, your city and the competitors that bother you most, and we reply with a time within one business day. Calls run about twenty minutes and the scan is executed live while you watch, so nothing is prepared in advance. Two forms and a host. That is the whole surface. Nothing on this site profiles you, and nothing here is sold or shared for anyone else’s advertising. Effective 18 August 2026 ## What the two forms collect The scan setup box on the home page takes a company name, a city or market, a category and which engines you want covered. It does not ask for anything about you. Submitting it carries those values across to the booking page — it does not start a scan in your browser. The booking form takes your name, your email, and optionally your company, city, category and the competitors you want compared. That is what we need to run the scan and send you the report. There is no other collection on this site. No account, no password, no payment details — this site takes no money. ## Where a submission actually goes FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) relays the booking form to us as an email. It receives everything you typed, for the sole purpose of delivering it. We name it here because you are entitled to know which third party handles your details before you press the button. Email — the message lands in a Sun Coast Digital Media mailbox and is read by a person. Your reply address is used to send you the report and to answer you. It is not added to a marketing list unless you ask for one. Cloudflare hosts and serves this site, and records the IP address of every request as ordinary server logging. Google Fonts serves the typefaces, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. No advertising network, no data broker, and no third party that receives your details for its own purposes. ## Measurement on this site This site carries Cloudflare Web Analytics, added by our host. It reports aggregate page views and referrers. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you and does not follow you to other websites. This site sets no cookies of its own and shows no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. Note that the privacy policy on suncoastdigitalmedia.com describes that site, not this one — this page is the accurate one for the Scanner. ## What we do with a scan A scan runs 100 buyer-intent prompts about a business and its market against public AI assistants, and records which businesses those answers name. The subject of a scan is a business, not a person, and the prompts contain no personal information about you. We keep the resulting report so we can compare a later scan against it. We do not publish a client’s report, and we do not sell scan data. ## How long we keep things Enquiries and reports are kept while the conversation is live and for as long as we reasonably need the record afterwards. Ask us to delete them and we will. ## Asking to see, correct or delete your details Email alexalligan@suncoastdigital.us or call or text 954-952-3611 and tell us what you want. We will answer within a reasonable time and will not charge you. These are choices we offer everyone who contacts us, not a right that depends on which state you live in. You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, send you a copy, correct it, delete it, or stop marketing to you. We answer every request within 30 days at the latest, and honour marketing opt-outs within 10 business days. Requests sent through the form below are logged with a due date the moment they arrive, so nothing depends on somebody remembering an email. What should we do? * Email to reply to * What helps us find your records (optional) Send privacy request Request received. We will reply to the email you gave within 30 days at the latest — 10 business days for a marketing opt-out. ## Who we are The AI Visibility Scanner is operated by Sun Coast Digital Media LLC, a Florida limited liability company, document number L26000306690, a service-area business based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with no public street address. The scan is a measurement, not a prediction, and it is run by people rather than by a button on this page. Everything below follows from those two facts. Effective 10 August 2026 ## How the scan is actually run This site does not run a scan in your browser. The form on the home page collects what we need and opens the booking page. A person at Sun Coast Digital Media then builds the prompt set, runs the searches, reads the answers back and writes the report. Anywhere this site says “we run them for real”, that is literal: a human runs them. The first scan is free. Requesting one creates no contract, reserves nothing and obliges neither of us to anything. We may decline a request. ## What the numbers can and cannot prove A scan reports how often a business was named across a defined set of prompts, on the day the scan ran. It is a measurement of that sample, not of the whole internet. AI assistants are not deterministic. The same prompt can return different answers minutes apart, and the engines change without notice. Two scans of the same business will not match exactly, and that is a property of the engines rather than an error in the method. The prompt set is a judgement. Twenty questions per engine is a sample chosen to reflect how buyers ask, not an exhaustive census. A request that fails is excluded from the denominator, because a timeout is not evidence of invisibility. We do not guarantee results, rankings, visibility, traffic, leads or revenue. Those are set by platforms we do not control. Anyone who guarantees them is not being straight with you. If the method changes, the description on how it works changes with it. ## Other companies’ names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google and every other product named on this site belong to their owners. We measure what those systems say. Naming them describes what we measure — it does not imply affiliation, partnership, endorsement or any access beyond what any member of the public has. Where a scan names a competitor, that is a record of what an engine said on a given day. It is not our assessment of that business. ## What is on this site The text, design and code here belong to Sun Coast Digital Media LLC. You may read, quote, link to and share it, including quoting it in an AI assistant’s answer. You may not copy it wholesale to pass off as your own. A report we write for you is yours to use. ## Availability and limits This site and its content are provided as they are.
